For the first five months of Vilik's life, everything developed "as it should". After a while, however, his parents noticed that Vilik started to have problems with his motor skills; sometimes, he fell over from his tummy, and sometimes, a toy fell out of his hand. Concerned about his difficulties, the parents decided to seek professional help and started consultations with doctors. Vilik began to attend rehabilitation sessions, but his motor development, in particular, continued to deteriorate.
Our son Jaroslav was born in the summer of 2019. Although the pregnancy was accompanied by several warning signs, after his birth, it seemed that he would be healthy. Sixty-two-year-old Anezka's prognosis was not good at first. The thyroid tumor had infiltrated the surrounding vascular structures and metastasized to the lungs. It was also an aggressive subtype that could not be treated with radioiodine. Treatment with chemotherapy and radiotherapy shrank the tumor, but unfortunately, not enough, and the standard treatment options were gradually exhausted.
Hanicka's story began with a purple spot (lump) on her right leg, which quickly spread up her leg and into her foot. It reached her kidneys. This limitation made it difficult for Hanicka to walk, so she could only walk on her tiptoes.
