In 2021, Ms Katerina Siblova was diagnosed with cervical cancer. It was a stage three tumor, classified as very high-risk. Due to the severity of the diagnosis, she had to undergo surgery, during which the tumor tissue was successfully removed. For the first five months of Vilik's life, everything developed "as it should". After a while, however, his parents noticed that Vilik started to have problems with his motor skills; sometimes, he fell over from his tummy, and sometimes, a toy fell out of his hand. Concerned about his difficulties, the parents decided to seek professional help and started consultations with doctors. Vilik began to attend rehabilitation sessions, but his motor development, in particular, continued to deteriorate.
Our son Jaroslav was born in the summer of 2019. Although the pregnancy was accompanied by several warning signs, after his birth, it seemed that he would be healthy. Unfortunately, as time went on, it became increasingly clear that the opposite was true. Jarousek was given one diagnosis after another, but the cause of his son's disability remained unknown. It took five long years before the diagnosis was made. Had it not been for the Outpatient Clinic for Undiagnosed Pediatric Patients, we would still not know the diagnosis. And that would be a shame.
