Doctors prescribed a lot of medication, but it didn't work, and she ended up in a wheelchair. The course of her illness was difficult and limited her in all normal activities. She was always afraid of injuring her leg, which is very dangerous because of the heavy bleeding.
At the end of 2015, however, she was given the opportunity to see Prof. Sterba at the Department of Pediatric Oncology at the University Hospital Brno. He has been trying to find a suitable treatment for her for years, as her disease is rare. In 2021, Prof. Sterba prescribed a new drug called Piqray, and since then, her leg has improved significantly, and the symptoms of the disease have diminished.
