Prof. Jaroslav Sterba, M.D., Ph.D. is the Head of the Department of Pediatric Oncology at the Faculty of Medicine of Masaryk University and the University Hospital Brno. He is a member of several national and international professional societies, such as the Children's Oncology Group (USA), the European Bone and Marrow Transplant Group, and the International Society of Pediatric Oncology. He is also serving his second term as a member of the Pediatric Committee of the European Medicines Agency (EMA). He has long been involved in research on personalised anti-cancer vaccines, which combine standard treatments with targeted and immunotherapeutic approaches. His scientific work focuses on innovative therapeutic strategies and immune response mechanisms in cancer. He has published over 150 original scientific articles in international peer-reviewed journals with impact factors, which have been cited more than 5,000 times. He is the author or co-author of numerous scientific publications and is actively involved in the education of young physicians and researchers. His work contributes not only to the advancements in pediatric cancer research, but also to improving the quality of life of children and young people with cancer.
