The department localized in two places - in the Maternity hospital Obilní trh (workplace of reproductive medicine, PRM) and in the area of Faculty Hospital Brno Bohunice (Department of medicine of adult age, PMDV).
The PRM workplace has got 165 gynecological-obstetric beds and provides obstetric, gynecological, oncological-gynecological highly specialized and comprehensive care in the departments of perinatal medicine and assisted reproduction. The PMDV workplace has got 50 gynecological-obstetric beds and provides a regional comprehensive reproductive health care and intermediate specialized care in the specialization of perinatal medicine.
The formation of a comprehensive workplace with full-range and top quality services provided allowed to obtain accreditation and certification for the education and training of young doctors in the specialization of gynecology and obstetrics, who grants the Union of European medical specialists (UEMS) and the European Council and the college gynecologist and obstetricians (EBCOG). Comprehensive health care for female provides gynecologists together with the surgeons, anesthesiologists, oncologists, radiotherapists, internists and clinical psychologists. Ob/Gyn Department, founded in the year 1919, is now the center of learning in the field of gynecology and obstetrics. Its medical, scientific and educational activities are divided to four subspecialties – reproductive gynecology, perinatology, onko-gynecology and assisted reproduction.
