Treatment of gynecologic malignancies has become a long lasting tradition at the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Besides the surgical treatment, radiotherapy has been carried out here in the twenties of the last century as well. Currently The Division of Gynecologic Oncology includes 28 beds for inpatient treatment and an outpatient day care center for the cytostatics application which meets the hygienic requirements needed for this treatment. The Centre of  Oncological Prevention  has been fully equipped for diagnosis of pre-malignant gynecological disorders and patiens dispensatory. In 1995 three newly constructed air conditioned operation theatres were put into work. The Breast cancer program providing complete medical care in diagnosis, therapy and monitoring of the patiens with Brest carcinoma has started as well. In 2002 the Division accomplished all quality needs and requierements of  the Czech Oncological Society and Oncogynecological Section CGPS and got the accreditation of the Postgraduál Oncogynecological Centre int he Czech Republic. In 2003 the trial of digital videochain designated for processing and transporting the data for the diagnosis precancerosis of cervix, vulva and vagina was launched. Our Dept. is recognized to be the first one to use this equipment in Czech Republic. In 2007 the scintillation probe within the radical oncogynecological and breast  surgery was first used. At 1 June 2008 was onkogynecological department moved into the building teaching hospital to new premises, which will significantly improve conditions bedded and sanitary facilities for patients. During  2008, significantly increased numbers of oncogynekological patients who have undergone radical endoscopic operating performance.
