History

The establishment of a hospital for Brno was first openly discussed after the end of the Second World War. A feasibility study was then carried out by Ing. arch. Bedřich Rozehnal. The construction of the new health center was only begun at the end of the 1960s however, based on Ing. arch. Miroslav Spurný´s plans. The year 1989 saw the inauguration of the wing with a capacity of 1020 beds – the dominant building of the present hospital. Construction of the hospital complex was then halted and did not resume until the end of the 1990s according to the proposals of Ing. arch. Miroslav Spurný and Ing. arch. Zdeněk Jánský. Upon completion of the hospital complex, the Faculty Hospital Brno initiated cooperation with Masaryk University of Brno on a university campus development project.

History

The hospital was built in 1928. The specialized treatment of pulmonary diseases was transferred to the Center for Adult Medicine.

The Long-Term Care Hospital is intended for after-treatment of patients, especially those who were hospitalized in the Faculty Hospital Brno. The admission of patients is carried out with the help of social workers (tel. 532 232 082, 532 233 091), on the recommendation of clinics and departments of the Faculty Hospital Brno or other medical institutions or on the recommendation of a general practitioner directly after treatment at home.
